Training

Training Services

I provide one to one training for all dogs.
Training owners and their dogs is incredibly rewarding and fun for me.  And hopefully I can help you and your dog

My philosophy is that for all dog behaviour problems have solutions.   And that the relationship with your dog can and should be one of the best things in your life.

I aim to help both owner and dog develop skills to control behaviour and encourage positive outcomes.

I see many owners with problems in some areas of their dogs behaviour.   When our relationship with our dog goes wrong owners are left frustrated, angry, upset, embarrassed and sometimes scared.   And dogs have similar outcomes with their own frustrations and their needs not being met.

The most common things I hear are: -
"I have tried everything"
"He is a lovely dog but ..........
"She is a certain breed and they are always like that"

Owners do things like - Hide behind trees, to avoid dogs, locking their dogs away when visitors come, not walking their dogs as it is too hard.

 About the training

How I work

The first session

I come and meet you and your dog.  We have a chat about the problems you have, and I can see how your dog is and how it sees those problems.   And then if you are happy and I feel I can help you, we start with the training there and then.

I can explain to you what your dog is actually thinking, often why they are doing what they do.

We will be in the house and out and about.   I will bring all sorts of leads and equipment to enable me to  see what suits you and your dog.  We will find or create challenging situations and and find ways to manage them.

Normally an hour of actual training is enough to start with.   And a follow up a week or so later.

I can come again after that as often as you like, or take your dog out for training walks if that is helpful

The most important thing you will need to do is Practice.  Practice,  and Practice
